A story of resilience, dedication, and the special bond between a horse and her owner.
Some stories remind us why we do what we do at MagnaWave. Orbie’s story is one of them.
When Orbie, a 13-year-old Thoroughbred mare, suffered a traumatic brain injury after being kicked in the head by another horse, her future was uncertain. Although she remained mobile and retained much of her neurological function, the injury left her unable to chew or eat independently.
For her owner, Kaylin, watching Orbie struggle was heartbreaking. But giving up on her wasn’t an option.
A Turning Point in Orbie’s Recovery
Determined to give Orbie every opportunity to recover, Kaylin incorporated MagnaWave PEMF therapy into her care routine.
On day 25 following her injury, Orbie received her first MagnaWave session using a Semi 10 machine. Immediately afterward, Kaylin noticed something remarkable: Orbie began attempting to lick and chew her food.
It was a small step, but after weeks of uncertainty, it meant everything.
Kaylin continued incorporating MagnaWave into Orbie’s daily routine, providing one to two sessions per day, each lasting approximately 15–20 minutes. Using the Wave Wings attachment around Orbie’s head, along with full-body sessions, she remained committed to supporting her mare throughout the recovery process.
Over time, Orbie gradually regained her ability to chew, eat, and drink normally. After a remarkable recovery journey, she returned to normal function.
Reflecting on the experience, Kaylin shared:
“I truly believe MagnaWave saved Orbie’s life.”
And as Orbie continued making progress, she added:
“This is the most incredible thing I think I’ve ever witnessed.”
While it’s impossible to attribute Orbie’s recovery to any single part of her care, Kaylin believes MagnaWave played an important role in supporting her mare throughout the process.
A New Chapter: Meet Baby Nuke!
Just when we thought Orbie’s story couldn’t get any more special, she gave us another reason to celebrate.
Orbie is now a mom!
After everything this incredible mare has been through, she welcomed a beautiful foal named Nuke into the world.
For Kaylin, the arrival of Nuke represents so much more than a new addition to the barn. It’s a reminder of just how far Orbie has come.
The mare who once struggled to eat following a devastating injury is now experiencing an entirely new chapter of life alongside her baby. Nuke has already used MagnaWave and is loving it!
It’s a full-circle moment that makes Orbie’s journey even more meaningful.
A Bond That Made All the Difference
Behind every recovery story is someone who refuses to give up.
For Orbie, that person was Kaylin.
From the earliest days following her injury to the countless hours spent supporting her recovery, Kaylin’s dedication never wavered. She advocated for Orbie, remained consistent with her care, and celebrated every milestone along the way.
Today, she gets to celebrate one of the most special milestones of all: watching Orbie become a mother.
MagnaWave was honored to be part of Orbie’s journey and to gift Kaylin a machine in recognition of her dedication and the incredible story they share.
More Than a Recovery Story
Orbie’s journey began with uncertainty, but today it’s a story filled with hope, resilience, and new beginnings.
From struggling to eat to standing proudly beside her foal, Orbie has come an extraordinary distance.
And while Nuke may never know everything his mom went through, he’ll always be part of a story that reminds us why supporting the animals we love matters so much.
To Kaylin, Orbie, and baby Nuke: thank you for allowing MagnaWave to be part of your journey. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for this special family. 💙💛
